Real Music :The Mission

Real music is beautiful.

They play the cream of four decades of pop music – and nothing else. They play the songs you want to dance to, that you forgot you knew, and that you thought you’d never dance to because DJs today don’t even know they exist.

Real Music puts on what are basically school discos for grown-ups who like to dance to music which not only has a beat, but also has lots of other sounds, too. They have a huge range of music from the singles charts and albums of the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s and they encourage their guests to make requests and they jolly well and play them. Unheard of; but true.

The event’s atmosphere is always happy and welcoming because the organisers and their guests love fun music and expect to have – and deliver - a good time in the Gregson Institute’s peaceful and friendly atmosphere.

This blog is intended to promote the event which happens about every six weeks so that pop-loving dancers can join the fun, keep up to date with forthcoming events, and to comment on and encourage their friends to turn up, turn on, and get on down.
